The money is on the Treasury page. These are the other returns. None of them is a check to someone without status. None of them is a scored saving. A current adult can leave the term with a credit file. No one on this path draws more than a citizen.

The split is the sorter. The public will remove a person convicted of a violent crime. It will not take the child as the case. Pew, June 2–8, 2025, found 65% of adults open to a way to stay if requirements are met, and 41% of Republicans. This page does not pretend the Fine is that majority.

The child leaves the picture
Interior enforcement is losing the coalition because the picture looks like a family. The adult keeps the file. The child is not the offender and not the shield. That is a social fact, not a slogan.
People with a criminal record are removed sooner
The non-detained docket is 7.3 million, CRS, February 26, 2026. 66,978 were in a bed on April 9. The officer goes to the person with a criminal record sooner, and the person who will leave is pointed at CBP Home.
The officer is not sent in blind
A known file is not a blind knock. Fewer indiscriminate stops. The person who refuses is already named. That is safer for the officer and plainer for the neighborhood.
Citizen children stop being the argument
Pew counted about 4.6 million U.S.-born children living with an unauthorized parent in 2023. They are already Americans. The rule is about the adult who entered. The child is not asked to carry it.
Culture
One sentence, in every language here
A rule people can repeat is a culture. Two speeches and no rule is how the fog stayed. The same sentence, in every language on this page, is the cultural benefit.
The entry is named
The adult admits the entry. Work, hardship, and family do not erase it. A country that will not say what happened cannot ask anyone else to live by a rule.
Compassion gets a clock
The question under this design is what happens to the child who did not choose. The answer is a rule for the adult, not a gift, and not a silence. Mercy without a clock was the old arrangement.

A city can see the number
Schools, hospitals, and emergency rooms already serve these households. A known count is a budget. An unknown count is a surprise. This page does not create a new local benefit.
Fraud gets a flag, not a new check
A matched identity is the opposite of self-certification. The fraud task force can use the flag. This sorter does not collect the GAO figure, and it does not pay anyone.
A state can stop a payment it already makes
A state that helps can end benefits it was not supposed to keep paying. A state that refuses keeps that bill. The saving is real. It is not in the Treasury table.
The state gets the work, not a new check
Twenty percent of each Fine returns to the state where the adult lives. Roads, water, schools, hospitals, public safety. The adult who paid does not receive it. A state that refuses the file does not receive it either. The share is a use of cash already in the table. It is not a second Fine, and it does not exist until Congress writes it.
A current Fine builds a credit file
An adult who stays current on the 1776 Fine is reported like any other installment. Ten years of on-time payments is a credit history. That is the score. It is not a loan, not a card, and not a gift. A missed month still counts. Nothing in this line exists until Congress writes the Fine.
Not more than a citizen
No adult without status draws more than a citizen in the same household. Same cap, same copay, same wait. State cash, a housing voucher, and a state health plan stop at the citizen schedule. A child born here is already a citizen and is not the one reduced. Emergency care and public school stay what current law already requires. This adds nothing above that.
Blue states come down to the citizen line
Where a state pays an unauthorized adult more than it pays a citizen, that extra ends. The adult still owes the Fine. Cutting the benefit does not pause the note. A blue state does not get a richer schedule than any other state. Parity is the rule everywhere. The states that extended the benefit are the ones with something to cut.
The same tax, the same file
An adult on the path files and pays the income tax a citizen pays. The Fine is on top of that, not instead of it. No state premium, no skipped tax, and no work card before the statute. Staying current is what keeps the file. Three misses and the adult is back on the removal list.
Service comes after citizenship, not before
Military-age citizens serve two years, at the border or in logistics. Benefits open on that day. The wage does not waive the Fine. Nothing in this line exists until Congress writes it.
The return you cannot put on a chart is a rule people can see. Cash is separate. Status is separate. The child is separate. A credit file is earned by paying. A benefit above a citizen's is not.
